Group B is Open, Who will Qualify? Champions Trophy 2017

    Sri Lanka Beat India in Champions Trophy by 7 wickets.  After this , all teams have 2 points each from group B with a win and a loss. After Sri Lanka won the toss today, elected to bowl first. India made 321 runs from 50 overs after loosing 6 wickets. Captain Virat Kohli caught by wicket keeper at 0 runs. Rohit Sharma 78, Shikhar Dhawan 125, Dhoni 63 bring India to 321 runs but is not enough for the defense.
In reply, Sri Lanka made 322 runs after loosing 3 wickets only ( 2 run outs). Danushka Gunathilaka 76, Kusal Mendis 89, Parera 47* (retired hurt), Mathews 52(not out) and Asela Gunaratne 34(not out),  aid Sri Lanka for easy win.
After Sri Lanka beating India,there is open case for all four teams for qualifying into semifinals. Sri Lanka vs Pakistan and India vs South Africa is the next match. The winner of these matches will be qualified.

The captain Angelo Mathews shepherded Sri Lanka's chase towards the end with a well constructed unbeaten 52

"It's one of the top wins, to beat India. It was a fantastic wicket. The bowlers did brilliantly to restrict India to 321. it's a very chaseable target, I tried to hit as many balls in the nets as possible, it makes you feel good and that helped me come back from injury. Wasn't easy for Gunathilaka to walk into the side and bat like how he did. Kusal is a great player, and Kusal Perera also batted really well. Those partnerships were crucial. It's a must-win game for all of us in the group. Not many people expected us to win and that took a lot of pressure off us. [Turning point?] I thought the second-wicket partnership. They set us the platform"


Virat Kohli :  ""We felt we had enough on the board, we trusted out bowlers, but Sri Lanka were pretty good. They kept the momentum through the innings, they picked their areas to hit and executed really well,There's always hindsight. I thought we bowled decently. But when you don't execute properly, there is always food for thought. Here you have to give credit to the other team. In a tournament like this especially."

Kusal Mendis is the Man of the Match for his 89 off 93. "Very good wicket. India had a good start, with Dhawan making a hundred. But for us, Danushka supported me very well. It was my first game against India and I'm happy to have contributed. Very bad (about  Danushka's run out) but after Angelo and Kusal batted, I was very happy"
